<h3 style="margin-left: 40px;">Enriching Communities Monarch Glen</h3>
<p style="margin-left: 40px;"><span class="cf0">At Mirvac, we prioritise building connected, people-centred communities, where residents feel safe, happy and healthy. To help bring this vision to life, we’ve partnered with Enriching Communities, led by founder Suzanne </span><span class="cf0">Guastini</span><span class="cf0">. With more than a decade of experience working alongside Mirvac on projects across Queensland, Suzanne and her team specialise in helping new neighbourhoods grow into strong, connected communities.</span></p>
<p style="margin-left: 40px;"><span class="cf0"></span>An important part of this approach is Mirvac’s early engagement, which starts long before the first residents move in. This includes reaching out to local schools, businesses and community groups to establish relationships and understand local needs.</p>
<p style="margin-left: 40px;">“The purpose of the program is to build social connection and cohesion, to create spaces where people feel welcomed, where they can meet organically or through social activities,” says Suzanne.</p>
<p style="margin-left: 40px;">“It’s about being present, helping people build relationships on a neighbourhood level, and collaborating with the wider community to help it grow and thrive.”</p>

<h3 style="margin-left: 40px;">A partnership built on purpose</h3>
<p style="margin-left: 40px;">The partnership model behind Kindira’s program is already proven. In 2024, Enriching Communities and Everleigh won the Consultants’ category at the UDIA Queensland Awards for Excellence for building authentic, connected communities.</p>
<p style="margin-left: 40px;"><span class="cf0">Suzanne says the main goal of community engagement is to create meaningful connections that make people feel seen, supported and at home.</span></p>
<p style="margin-left: 40px;"><span class="cf0"> </span></p>
<p style="margin-left: 40px;"><span class="cf0">“When people move into a new area, they often need to make new connections. They might be coming from interstate or from another suburb, so it’s important to help them feel welcome, to help them get to know their neighbours and what’s around them,” she says.</span></p>
<p style="margin-left: 40px;"><span class="cf0">Through the Welcome Program, the Enriching Communities team personally greets new residents, learning their stories so they can best connect them to local groups, activities and other neighbours.</span></p>
<p style="margin-left: 40px;"><span class="cf0">Whether it’s introducing someone to a nearby walking group, a local playgroup, or a friendly running club, the goal is to help every new resident feel part of something bigger.</span></p>

<h3 style="margin-left: 40px;">Kindira's community program</h3>
<p style="margin-left: 40px;">As Kindira begins to take shape, our community program will evolve as new residents move in and neighbourhood parks, trails and gathering spaces come to life. Drawing inspiration from our award-winning Everleigh community in nearby Greenbank, the program will offer a mix of activities to bring people together.</p>
<p style="margin-left: 40px;">From the already established free Wellness Workouts in the park each week to early years initiatives that connect local playgroups and young families, the focus is on creating simple, enjoyable ways for people to meet and be active. Plans also include opportunities to engage local teenagers and young adults, building confidence, inclusion and connection across generations.</p>
<p style="margin-left: 40px;">Nature will play a starring role, with community events that take advantage of Kindira’s location, with the tree-lined Sandy Creek, conservation bushland, parks, and nearby scenic ranges encouraging residents to explore, recharge and connect outdoors.</p>
<p style="margin-left: 40px;">“Everything we do is about getting people out, moving, and connecting, whether that’s through fitness, play, or simply being in nature together,” says Suzanne.</p>

<h3 style="margin-left: 40px;">Connection that lasts</h3>
<p style="margin-left: 40px;">What begins as a simple neighbourly introduction can grow into something far more enduring. Over more than a decade of collaboration between Mirvac and Enriching Communities, has shown small, consistent acts of connection can create a culture that continues for years. “We’ve created a legacy, a social norm within Mirvac communities where people say hello to their neighbour, reach out, and get involved,” says Suzanne. “Sometimes people just need that first moment to break the ice, and our programs help create those opportunities.”</p>
<p style="margin-left: 40px;">From a weekly playgroup to a seniors’ coffee catch-up or even a community pickleball game, these moments may seem small, but they spark friendships that endure long after the first event. Many of the groups which formed in earlier Mirvac communities across the Gold Coast and in Brisbane still meet today, many years after the original programs began.</p>
<p style="margin-left: 40px;">“The real success is when these connections carry on. The initiatives are regular, consistent and welcoming, people know they can join when the time is right for them. It’s that rhythm of community that makes the difference,” Suzanne explains. “It's this human connection that drives me and helping people break down social isolation and build relationships that enrich their lives, is incredibly meaningful work, and I feel very blessed to be part of it.”</p>
